California cornerback Chris Steele inlcudes Longhorns in trimmed list of schools.
St. John Bosco High School (Bellflower, CA) cornerback Chris Steele holds scholarship offers from 44 Division-I schools to play football at the collegiate level. On Thursday, the 5-star prospect did a bit of trimming, announcing his “Top-14” list, which included the Longhorns.
In his announcement, Steele mentioned his intention to enroll early wherever he decides to play.
“From 44 to 14.. I would like to thank every University that has given me the opportunity to play for their program, it truly does mean a lot. Due to the fact that I will be enrolling into a university early, I have decided that I will be focusing on these 14 schools. This list may change as the process goes on and other opportunities are presented… #Shhh.”
Steele’s list of 14 schools includes Florida, Alabama, LSU, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Louisville, Texas, Oklahoma, USC, Oregon, Penn State, South Carolina, Cal, and Miami.
He is ranked as the 29th best player in the country and the 3rd best cornerback in the country according to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings.
USC is the likely leader for his services early on, but with Texas possessing the informal tag as “DBU,” expect the Longhorns to make a strong push leading up to National Signing Day 2019.
