Texas Practice highlights and Injury Updates: Thursday, March 29th

Tom Herman praised his offensive and defensive units at his post-practice media availability on Thursday and provided an update on player injuries.

Linebacker Gary Johnson will miss up to 6 weeks due to an injury sustained on Tuesday, and OLB Edwin Freeman re-injured a bicep and will have an MRI to determine the severity. Offensive tackle Mike Grandy is recovering from a concussion, and running back Kyle Porter should be back in the mix in 10-14 days. A host of other players are managing and recovering well and should be available for the Orange-White scrimmage next month.

Herman also announced Cameron Townsend’s move to running back. Townsend, a linebacker recruited by Charlie Strong, has seen limited playing time on the 40 Acres.

The annual Texas Spring Game will take place at 6:30 PM on Saturday, April 21st.
