Longhorns add first LB commit of 2019 class in De'Gabriel Floyd

Tom Herman’s recruiting efforts received some good news on Thursday when the head coach received a verbal commitment from Linebacker De’Gabriel Floyd.  Floyd, a 4-star prospect out of Westlake High School in California, received a Texas offer in late January and attended Texas’ Junior Day in February.

Floyd ranks as the 40th best player in the country according to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings and the 3rd best Outside Linebacker in the nation.

His commitment marks the first for the linebacker position in the 2019 class, which now stands at 4 verbal pledges and includes QB Roschon Johnson, DE T’Vondre Sweat and WR Jordan Whittington.
