Hamilton's Walkoff Grand Slam give Texas 11-10 win over Texas State

The Longhorns led the Bobcats 6-3 after four innings at Disch-Falk Field on Tuesday night, but Texas State would add seven runs in the following three innings to take an 10-6 lead.

Trailing 10-6 in the top of the 9th, Texas would pull off an improbable win thanks to the bat of shortstop David Hamilton.

After a leadoff walk to Nathan Hibbeler and a subsequent walk to Duke Ellis, Kody Clemens started the Texas rally with an RBI single to right field, making the score 10-7.  Another walk to Zach Zubia loaded the bases for Hamilton, who took a full-count pitch over the right field fence to give Texas an 11-10 come-from-behind win over Texas State.

The walkoff grand slam by Hamilton was the team’s first since Preston Clark’s in the 2009 season.

Texas improved to 31-17 on the season and will begin a 3-game series against 9th ranked Texas Tech on Friday in Lubbock.
