Senior linebacker Edwin Freeman will miss the remainder of the spring after having successful tricep surgery, the University’s athletic department released in a statement on Sunday. Additionally, junior defensive back P.J. Locke III is considered day-to-day after suffering a stinger in practice on Saturday.
Freeman, a fifth-year linebacker from Arlington Bowie High School, has played in 29 career games at Texas and started in 5 of those games. Locke has started 19 games at Texas and played in 33 games in his career at Texas.
Both players should be back and ready to go when the Longhorns take the field in the season opener against the Terrapins on September 1st in Landover, Maryland.
