Texas coach Tom Herman opened his press conference after the Longhorns’ win over No. 17 TCU on Saturday with an brief injury report, saying running back Keaontay Ingram and left tackle Calvin Anderson played even though they were hurt.
“Ingram had a hip pointer in the first half that we put a little medicine on it, took him in and wasn’t quite ready — we don’t think it will be anything long-term,” Herman said. “And then Anderson played through some knee issues, we’ll get that looked at tomorrow, but he was able to finish the game.”
Ingram, who missed the Southern Cal game last week with a knee injury, ran for 38 yards in eight carries, all in the first half.
Herman also said defensive back Jarmarquis Durst had a “pretty severe shoulder sprain,” and would not have been able to continue in the game if he was needed.
Neither center Zach Shackelford (foot) nor wide receiver John Burt (foot), who were both listed as questionable, played in Texas’ win on Saturday.
