On Saturday, the 18th ranked Texas Longhorns will travel up to Manhattan, KS to face the Kansas State Wildcats, a game that many would think the Longhorns would come away with an easy win.
Out of the many games played in Manhattan between the two teams, Texas has only come away with one win. Just one.
To find this lone win, you would have to go back 16 years to 2002, where the Longhorns, led by QB Chris Simms, RB Cedric Benson, and WR Roy Williams, beat the Wildcats 17-14.
A lot has happened for Texas in those 16 years. Let’s look back in time at the many events that occurred from that win in 2002 to today:
- 2003-05: The Vince Young era came and went, bringing the Longhorns their first National Championship since 1970. Young later had his number 10 jersey retired by Texas.
